Founders and Staff
The founders of ShalomBoston.com are Jamie Stolper and Ross Silverstein, third generation Bostonians who are involved members of the local Jewish community. We have combined our love of all things Jewish with our business backgrounds to create and maintain this resource for others who are searching for information and a sense of community.
Jamie Stolper
Jamie Stolper has been active in the Jewish and business worlds all her adult life. She received a bachelors and masters degree from MIT's Sloan School of Management, as well as a Bachelor of Hebrew Literature from Hebrew College. She spent many years working at Data Resources, Inc. doing economic forecasting and consulting. While raising a family with three sons, she moved on to work as an independent consultant specializing in the valuation of intangible assets, and continued a long period of involvement in various secular and Jewish community organizations, including the Newton Public Schools, Hebrew College, Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Boston, The Rashi School, Combined Jewish Philanthropies, American Jewish Committee, and others. After a short hiatus from the secular business world, Jamie returned to her first love, Jewish education, and taught at several area Hebrew schools, including the Prozdor at Hebrew College and Temple Beth Elohim in Wellesley. She currently teaches at Congregation Or Atid in Wayland and Temple Emanuel in Newton, and serves as the Associate Education Director at Congregation Or Atid.
Jamie co-founded ShalomBoston.com in 2000 and has become its President, responsible for all aspects of the web site. In addition, as the Food Editor, she has developed ShalomBoston.com's extensive and popular food features. Jamie has recently, and happily, been invited to present food and cooking programs to various Jewish groups in the area, including synagogues, women's organizations, and youth groups.
Jamie lives in Newton with her husband David and the youngest of their three sons. She enjoys reading, listening to music, dancing, and spending time with friends and extended family.
